What was your favorite childhood game? What was its objective? And perhaps more importantly, what are your favorite “games” now?
Why ask? Because the games we play—whether in childhood or adulthood—carry powerful, life-shaping lessons. Here are two incredible realizations about the impact of games on our subconscious mind:
When we immerse ourselves in play, time seems to fly, and we experience true joy. This state isn’t just fun—it’s transformative. During play, our brains naturally enter the theta brainwave state, the same state used for deep healing in hypnosis or ThetaHealing.
Theta brainwaves are most active when we’re waking up, falling asleep, or deeply engaged in an activity we love. It’s the brainwave of subconscious programming. Every game we’ve played has contributed to the deep “rules” shaping how we navigate life today.
The games we’ve played—or still play—program our subconscious minds, influencing how we engage with life.
For me, this realization came when I noticed discomfort around becoming more visible. As a child, my favorite game was hide-and-seek, and I loved one thing most: not being found. The irony of being the Founder of a globally expanding company isn’t lost on me! To grow, I had to retrain my brain, shifting my perspective to see that being “found” can be just as fun as hiding. This shift hasn’t just healed me—it’s transformed our company.
A fun example? Paula Heinonen, our SFO and Prosper mE Director, loved playing Monopoly as a kid! Her journey from childhood games to leading financial empowerment is a beautiful testament to alignment.
Take a moment now. Place your hand on your heart and affirm:
“I become aware and let go of any game-created limitations. I understand the rules of the ‘game’ of life. I play fairly. I play joyfully. I am free. I am mE.”
